As you may or may not have noticed, I haven't been on DA in about a year, judging by my last journal entry. I just haven't had much time or motivation to draw anymore, which is equal parts saddening and frustrating. I keep telling myself I'll try harder to get back into it, but at the end of the day I'd just rather relax with a book or a video game than bust out the sketchbook and pencils.
My full time job keeps me pretty busy, but the past year hasn't been all work and dullness. Last summer, I finally achieved my childhood dream of owning a horse when I adopted a miniature horse named Caspian. I now have a second horse, also a miniature, named Bella. They are both very cute and a lot of fun Of course, they also take up a lot of time (potential drawing time) but they're worth it.
This past weekend was Fanime weekend again. I cosplayed Anna from Frozen (complete with hand-embroidered vest) and a last-minute Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon. It wasn't a particularly eventful convention, but Fanime is always fun regardless, even though none of the Elsa cosplayers ever wanted to build a snowman </3 The registration line was nonexistent this year, which was a big change from last year's convention and it's 5-hour badge-pickup line. I'm already planning improvements on my costumes, but I guess I need to learn how to sew first...I'll have to add "learn basic sewing skills" to my to-do list for this year
